So long, farewell

Blindingly good food
Today was officially KF’s last day with the company, and at Ross’s insistence we organised a little farewell for him. Colin chose a nice little nook at Stanley Street called Porta Porta, it’s a cosy little Italian restaurant with great food and really nice people. We had a lovely time chatting, taking pictures of the food and of everyone.

Surrealism
In the mere 3+ years with the company, I’ve seen it transform tremendously. All those years ago the kind of life we led at the office was all too surreal – work melded with play and everything in between was new, challenging, unchartered, free-forming and rewarding. I suppose it was just a matter of time before the natural progression of things upset the balance and as more and more people get hired, more and more debris slips in under the radar and accumulates.

To be fair, crap happens everywhere. It’s just a matter of time. It’s like growing up. When the day comes where I can no longer balance the good with the bad, it’s simply just my time to move on.

It will be sad, but hey, even if I only caught the tail end of the industrial revolution of the millennium, even if I was just a nano-participant of the whole new world that’s still revealing itself, even if I can’t ever cure myself of this fascination with an all too unreal world, it was great while it lasted.

Life is fleeting, so I guess I need jobs like that to go with it.
