Catch my disease

06/02/2006

I’m so totally psychic
Really. Even when I’m not trying.

I went to Robinson’s at Raffles City today. I love that place, it reminds me of better times. Like the time of elves: an ethereal, almost mythical time, mostly because what we did was still crazily unbelievable, and we never thought about payback.

As I walked out of Robinson’s onto the junction of North Bridge Road and Stamford Road, I popped the earphones back into my ear, and hit play. The song du jour was Catch My Disease, and it’s so cute. There are probably 200 ways to describe it, but I’m still going with cute.

And just as Ben Lee (and me, but only in my head) started singing

She told me she loved me like fireworks, and that’s the way I like it

And fireworks started. Boom, boom, boom! Over on in the direction of the Esplanade.

If that isn’t proof, what is.

I crossed the road, and headed towards my bus stop. Had to walk to the one nearer Funan, and when I turned back to check, I saw my bus speed up around the corner. So I ran.

Ben Lee kept singing please, baby please.

And all I could think was, yeah solid state, baby! Woo!
