Wash and Dry
06/07/2006
KF couldn’t stand it anymore so we got a new washing machine and a separate dryer. This is how you know time flies – despite getting your clothes torn in the washing machine again and again, you still continue using the machine and before you know it, you’ve been using it for the last year and a half. That’s how you know time flies. It does so even when you’re not having fun.
Our new washer is a larger capacity – 7kg (vs 5.5kg before), so I think this means I can wash the quilts better now (no stuffing required). The door opens 180° wide, so it really helps when loading the clothes in.
We got a dryer of the same brand, and it’s neat because it’s a condenser dryer and thus doesn’t not require an outlet to release the hot air and dust. The moisture is collected in a moisture unit, and can be poured away. It is supposed to be more efficient too, but I can’t verify that yet. I’m just happy to have a dryer, and one that’s large capacity too. And the door opens 180°. What’s not to like about it?
So our inaugural wash turned out fine. Tearlessly and noiselessly. I love the sound of efficiency.
