Vespa brigade
21/09/2006
We’re at the final stop on our Southeast Asian tour, and it’s turning out to be the most eye opening.
We’re in Ho Chi Minh City now, and I already like it. It also helps that we were booked into the really grand Park Hyatt Saigon.
What really amazes me is the traffic – the unless stream of vespas are a little intimidating, but an attempt to cross the road today went well. The riders try their best to avoid you.
TA is playing host this time, and he’s giving Jet a good run for the buck. He made the arrangements to get us shuttled to the hotel, and made reservations for dinner for us at a really quaint restaurant where they served local street food, in a non-street environment. There are five other people who can attest that I can fluently ask for more fish sauce in Vietnamese. And more fish sauce was promptly delivered.
After that we went to a quaint little place for coffee – and I learnt that sa-poh-dila (sic?) is really chiku.
So now I’m back in my swanky room, waiting to take my bath. I brought my Bliss vacation set too – can’t wait to try Soapy Sap. More photos on Flickr, bye for now.
