bunched

Well, looking back I really dunnit this year, didn’t I?

2007 started out fine, I think I met V for tea one day. I decided to cut my hair before a huge Big Why “global summit”. Had lunch with Mr G during the conference and we asked about his manifesto. It was fun, but not even lunch with the Big Why’s Jerry McGuire could’ve fixed things, since after all, he’s no Tom Cruise.

Then the lot of us went to Bali, and had a smashing good time. Hey, after 6 years of service, I think I earned a little work-sponsored vacation (albeit to a third world country I wouldn’t otherwise have gone to. Complain complain complain, the insolent brat I am).

Finally after dragging my feet, we said our goodbyes, left the Big Why, and headed for Japan, where we learnt that contrary to popular belief, it isn’t all that expensive if you’re a cheapie like us and don’t mind roughing it out. We had such a good time, hunting for Nintendo, reliving Memoirs of a Geisha, and pigging out.

A couple of weeks after we got back, I finally had to say goodbye to the last remnant of my childhood and that was uncomfortable, unpleasant and uncontrollably unhappy.

And then we moved.

We’ve been here almost six months. We’re still living out of a suitcase, but hey, I treated myself to a nice new toy, got on Facebook and finally got a real haircut the other day. I’m finding out about eczema first hand, tea, and now am licensed to drive. How cool is that?

It is now the start of another day, and another year, I can hear the fireworks going off.

Have a fulfilling, rewarding 2008 filled with joy and mirth, health and contentment, family and friends.
