legion of honor

I’m trying to create a superduper all-day playlist for a newfangled alarm clock which will probably serve me better as a pair of speakers for my iPod.

Music to pipe through my room all day.

What kind of playlist would it be if it didn’t have Faith No More’s version of Easy?

Incomplete, I suppose.

All these mellow tunes are really massaging my evening into a pensive one. In one moment I’m missing that undeniable accent that pretty much says home to me, and in the next I’m thinking Jerry doesn’t really have the hunger and grit to stage a comeback that’s probably only a quarter of the size of the one Steve Jobs had to pull off.

It’ll be another 20 weeks to Neil Gaiman‘s The Graveyard Book, so I guess that’s something to look forward to. I want to watch The Dark Knight.

I’m convinced that leaders personify their companies. It explains why Microsoft is an awkward geeky corporation, with not-so-subtle intentions to rule the world. It also explains why Apple is focused, wiley, exacting and fakely-modest in its minimalism.

There’s that dream I had last night, where I was interviewing for a job (again) with Ross (again!) at Wisma Alsagoff (again!!). The new-job feeling stayed with me all day.

I’m going to start taking photos of my new shoes. What’s a spanky new pair of shoes without a photo?

Incomplete.

The days are getting longer, and thankfully it’s a little warmer this week. Happy Mother’s Day to all moms (in advance). You guys will always be a lot more courageous and long-suffering than I can imagine myself to be, so take some time out to enjoy the Hallmark holiday, kitchzy as it might be.

Went to Bistro Aix with my cousin for dinner. Probably should’ve stuck with a traditional steakhouse, but I thought this would be less stuffy and cooler. It was certainly less stuffy. But I probably would’ve enjoyed the steak better elsewhere. Perhaps next time I’ll bring him to Bobo’s. If he flies back into town.
