discovery!
12/12/2008
We had quite a hectic couple of weeks. I had a nasty case of the flu after we got back from Vegas which set me back for a week.
And this week Sharks stopped by again for the week. Indeed she brought the sun, and we had pretty mild weather the week she stayed here. She left this morning and we’re bracing ourselves for an artic storm, the first of the season. I’m preparing to freeze this weekend.
We mostly drove around, explored a few yarn stores, and had dinner with friends. It was good. We discovered a new favourite Korean BBQ restaurant last night – Tobang – in Santa Clara last night. Rolls of totally fatty meat, lots of side dishes, a fried fish for each of us, two tofupots of chawanmushi (I suppose it’s more like tofupotmushi), a cold noodle, a good variety of dips and different types of wraps for the meat! That’s a first for us – we had rice wraps, daikon radish wraps and the usual lettuce wraps, but I like the daikon wraps the best. Thin round slices of vinegared daikon around the searing hot fatty meat really tickled my tastebuds. They also served the most unstinky garlic ever. It tasted like garlic, but without the searing tang. And it didn’t make my breath stink!
It’s so good, I’m still thinking about it right now.
Anyway. It was fun while Sharks was here. Right now I guess I’ll just look forward to heading home.
