writing – and the lack of it

27/07/2009

Found my buddy V online yesterday and pinged for a chat. Not groundbreaking conversation, but he asks what I’ve been doing.

Obviously nothing very spectacular, I answer in a fashion.

He says, why don’t you start blogging about this and that. People will read it.

I say I don’t have anything better to add to anything. I hardly even have anything better to say on my own blog.

He suggests I write about tech gossip. And people will comment and send me more. And it will go on. And I will get sponsorship. And life will be great.

And I related how Valleywag came and went.

So I suggest that perhaps he could do it, and he can write about stupid things that he sees at work, since he’s in the medical profession.

He replies that he might get into trouble.

Pseudonyms, I say.

And he says – You probably think that my work is like Scrubs. But it’s not. It’s more like a boring TCS drama.

I agree wholeheartedly. That the pen is mightier than the sword.

Swords are for combat. Not chopping vegetables.

So no point using a pen to cook a vegetable stew when I’m the only one who’s hungry.

And everyone else can have a steak, salad and a side of potatoes, sometimes delivered.
